A recent study of the iPhone usage by mobile data analytic firm Localytics, has revealed that that iPhone apps are used more during evening hours and on weekends, than during business hours. This has led the firm to observe that the iPhone is still mostly as a personal device, rather than for business purpose.
The study, conducted for two months, found that there was 7% more traffic on weekends than on weekdays. During weekdays, the app traffic would slowly build in the evenings, to peak usage in the night. The drawback with the study is that it does not track how many work-related tasks like email and phone calls were used by the iPhone users for business purposes. While the study does show a considerable rise in personal usage, the usage of the iPhone for business is growing steadily.
