A study conducted by the mobile audience media company JiWire has proven the effectiveness of mobile advertising, especially ads that appear within apps. Out of 1,000 smartphone users, 52% said they have acted on an advertisement in an app, while 18% have made a direct purchase from an ad in an app in the past one month.
The survey also found that 53% were willing to share their location to get relevant ads. 76% said they prefer to download an advertising-supported app for free than paying a fee upfront for it. Amongst those surveyed, above 40% spend more than an hour per day using apps, with Facebook being the most popular. Each user had an average of 22 apps on their devices.
