EduLife Case Study: When Angular Met Headless Drupal for the Dynamic Web Experience

TLDR: EduLife wanted an online platform with a hassle-free and easy content management system. Web Spiders offered them e2m.live, a full suite of event software that allows organizations to host events successfully. EduLife’s Virtual Campus is powered by e2m.live.

1. Web Spiders offered complete UX consultancy followed by the implementation of a sub-second course selection e-commerce site.

2. e2m.live helped organize EduLife’s website in different sectors including their POS content management.

3. The Virtual Campus of EduLife has an easy one-click process for login and checkout processes.

4. For POS, Drupal CMS was used for easy content management, simplified course checkout, and trial booking. Angular Drupal was used as a frontend framework.

5. Headless Drupal enabled an easy content management system along with Angular as frontend rendering via Drupal APIs as headless architecture resulting in independent frontend and backend. A Content Delivery Network (CDN) was used for caching to achieve maximum performance.

About EduLife

EduLife is Singapore based live-learning platform that offers academic, non-academic, and professional courses. The brand is dedicated to creating an online learning experience in a seamless and convenient way. Their main aim was to make learning fun, simple, practical, and accessible for students from all walks of life.

While imparting education in different subjects and topics remained the prime goal of EduLife, the experience had to be hassle-free and fun, and at the same time easy.

Here is where e2m.live played a vital role to enhance the entire student experience on EduLife. Web Spiders worked with EduLife and offered complete UX consultancy followed by the implementation of a sub-second course selection e-commerce site.

The result was a wonderful learning experience on the EduLife Virtual Campus that went live on 1st June 2021.

The Challenge

The main challenge EduLife faced was to organize the site in different sectors. POS content management was not easy. Also, EduLife wanted a simplified course checkout along with a trial booking to allow more online sales.

EduLife was looking for a simplified platform that would allow kids of every age group starting from 6 years as well as their parents to easily access courses, documents, and other relevant information. The login and checkout processes demanded a one-click process for smooth accessibility.

The Solution

The role of e2m.live as a solution provider was crucial, keeping in mind the target audience included children too. For POS, Drupal CMS was used for easy content management, simplified course checkout, and trial booking. Angular is used as a frontend framework.

The role of Headless Drupal with Angular did wonders as technological contributions. Headless Drupal enabled an easy content management system along with Angular as frontend rendering via Drupal APIs as headless architecture resulting in independent frontend and backend. A Content Delivery Network (CDN) was used for caching to achieve maximum performance.

The Virtual Campus of EduLife is powered by e2m.live as the digital platform. It also powers monthly events to create more awareness and visibility as well as to generate leads.

EduLife and e2m.live

e2m.live makes the digital learning experience on EduLife’s Virtual Campus enjoyable. It revolutionizes the online education system globally, focussing on the students’ aptitude and overall skill sets with a systematic approach. The Virtual Campus has been created in the simplest way to help the students and their parents assess the learning curve easily.

a. An Easily Accessible and Trackable Virtual Campus

An easy content management system has been used in the virtual campus that includes courses, classes, assignment records, and certificates all categorized for easy accessibility. All courses are enlisted under “My Courses” with details of each course including syllabus, age group, and requirements. The “My Classes” section represents all classes categorized as per dates, subjects, and sessions. The assignments issued to students are enlisted under “My Assignment” as issued, submitted, and assessed. There is another “My Certificates” section where all the course certificates completed by a student can be found.

b. LIVE Learning and Recordings

EduLife sessions are live to impart a real classroom feel. The live sessions are seamless and interactive. Students can interact one-to-one with mentors and can chat in groups too. For a missed class or revision session, session recordings are shared with the students. These recordings are available 24×7 on the site.

c. Login and Checkout Procedure

Since EduLife targets young users, the logging in and logging out procedures were made fast and smooth. Drupal CMS played the role of simplified check-in and checkout as a frontend framework. As a result, the login method is simple and literally child’s play.

The deadly combination of angular and headless Drupal worked great for EduLife Virtual Campus. With e2m.live as the digital platform, the learning experience on EduLife has been great so far. As EduLife CEO Vikash Agarwalla said, “We are getting such wonderful feedback from all quarters, thank you so much for an excellent job to the WS rockstar team“.
